In the Western debate on how best to counter the rise and expansion of the Jihadi movement, particularly the Salafists, within liberal democracies, European experiences are important because of the sheer numbers of militants and the dissemination within many urban areas. France's counter terrorism experiences are one among these learning processes for all other European Govenrment but also for North American CT planning as well. In an article I published in the Middle East Times today I commented on France's Interior Minister remarks on the state of confrontation with the Jihadists. In a recent series of seminars in Paris, which I will report about on CTB, I also interacted with a number of French legislators and CT officials dealing with the French involvement in Afghanistan and the Sahel. In short, France is heading towards "increasing engagement with al Qaeda on two continents, Asia and Africa, as well as at home.

Phares is all over the place lately. He was on FOX this morning. France wil enable terrorism util it destroys the ocuntry and then they might try to resurrect it from the rubble. All it's going to take is one nation, just one, to come forward, maybe drop out of the EU to do it, and just say "NO MORE!' Islam will be banned, and terrorists will be deported, interred, or forced into hiding. Israel will be first, bbut hat will have little effect on the rest of the free world. I'm think either Italy, Scotland, or Australia will put their foot down next. It will happen in the the next five years. That welafre state will be caving sooner than you think and it will get very, very ugly. Those who still harbor delusions abou Islam will not once the Muzzies stop getting their jizya and have to either leave oor engage in haram honest, hard work.
I love how he says 'particularly the Salafists,' as if there were any othe rkind in the free world. Shi'ite, Wahhabi, Sunni, whatever, every mosque in the free world and Northern, and increasingly East, Africa is a Wahhabi-funded Salafist mosque owned and run by the Wahhabi-funded Salafist Muslim Brotherhood.
Phares is cute, though. I pre-ordered 'The Confrontation.' Arab Christians are usually pretty hot, with those pretty Arab eyes and evolution never seen in Muslims, resulting in attractive facial features, normal genitalia, and normal-to-average intelligence. He's aging well, too.
